Gone are the days when people only travelled to Paris, London or Rome for European holidays. With time people have learned to visit new places, do something different and spend economically. No doubt, there are a number of underrated cities in Europe and Budapest is one of them. The place has some of the amazing tourist destinations but, at rates cheaper than Paris and so that may be the reason it is called as the Paris of the East.Let me tell you that Buda and Pest – the cities on the opposite shores of Danube, got on my list when I planned to travel Europe at a lesser price. As I am a staunch believer of saving money, I made sure to use the Dealslands.co.uk to the fullest on each and every spending. On my trip, I enjoyed doing a number of things and I strongly believe that even you will enjoy doing those. So here I am with a bucket-list with to do things that can help you make the trip memorable one.
Go cruising on Danube river
If you want to enjoy the beauty of Buda and Pest, better take the cruise at night. It is really amazing to see the lights from the buildings on both the banks, leave their mark on the water. Trust me it is a breathtaking experience. On the contrary, if you are in the mood to get to know about the history of the cities, take up the cruise ride during the day time. Apart from that, romantic cruise rides are also available for the couples.
Take a bath at Szechenyi Baths
Now, this must be on your list. No Budapest trip is complete without the thermal baths. There are a number of baths in Budapest and it may not be possible for you to visit all. So at least go for the Széchenyi Baths and soak yourself in the water. Trust me, you are going to thank me for this!
Take a stride on the chain bridge
The Szechenyi chain bridge is one of the most beautiful attractions of Budapest which links both the cities together. The bridge was opened to the public in 1849 and can be called as one of the architectural wonders around the world. Taking a stride over the bridge especially during the night can get you an amazing view of the cities on your either sides. Trust me I was mesmerised by the view.
Taste the best Hungarian Wine
Beneath the Buda Castle, there is the Faust Wine cellar. It is loaded with the astounding wine collection from around the Hungary. To find and get the best wines, Gabor Nagy travels around different wine regions and gets the best for his customers. Apart from the wine tasting experience, the place offers you a quite romantic place to sit and relax.
Go caving in Budapest
If you are a kind of an adventure person, you can definitely try out going on caving in Budapest. For me, it was really an amazing experience to move on my belly through the cave and get all dirty. I was lead by a guide and it took me around 3 hours to complete it. But, before you do something like that let me tell you that it is not an activity for claustrophobic.
Make sure you have enough days planned for the trip so that you don’t have to drop any of your activities mid-way. Again, get your hotel near to the city from Hotels.com at a better deal so that you always stay connected to the heartthrob of the city.
